final essay assignment applying academic knowledge to an understanding of our lives

This assignment requires that you write a 1,250-1,750 word essay (5-7 pages, word count is more important, title and References pages do not count) that applies one of the theories we have discussed this term to a workplace or community issue.

You are encouraged to create your own topic, as long as it involves applying academic knowledge/theory to a workplace or community issue. However, if you decide to use your own idea, you must consult with your instructor before beginning. (For example, you might want to use a different ethical approach from Week One, or the same approach, but a different community issue).
This essay requires that you use the library to find at least two peer-reviewed, credible sources to support your analysis.

1. This is a formal essay. Therefore, it requires an introduction with a thesis statement, supporting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You must use APA format for the entire essay, including a title page, in-text citations, and the References page.
2. Do not use first or second person (I, me, my, mine, us, our, we, etc). Use third person only: They, them, he, she, it, them, they, the writer, the author, etc. Also, spell out all contractions (can’t becomes cannot, “won’t” becomes will not). When you are writing informal essays, you can use these, but this is a formal academic essay, and the tone must also be formal.
3. When you use your sources, make sure that you integrate them seamlessly and that they actually add something to the analysis by clearly supporting your argument.
