week 3 lab 3

ALEKS Lab

Access the ALEKS site here. For the Week Three Math Lab click on the ALEKS tab on the left navigation toolbar, in your online course. Review the tutorial on how to use ALEKS for your lab assignment. Work in the Week Three module by selecting topics from your “pie.” (Please Note: You may be prompted throughout the weeks to take diagnostic assessments. It is very important that you take these seriously and follow directions as diagnose the customization of your weekly “pies.”)

This activity is worth eight points towards your weekly total, and your progress will be graded according to the percent of the module you complete. For example, if your ALEKS pie shows that you have accomplished 75% of the Week Three slice, then you earned 75% of eight points, or .75 x 8 = 6.0 points for your ALEKS progress score in Week Three. These grades will be automatically imported into our Gradebook at 11:59 PM Mountain Time on Monday evening.

It is very important that you work through every concept in each pie slice. Be sure to work from pie slice 1 to pie slice 5 in numerical order. If you fail to complete the Week One pie slice, you will not be able to complete all the concepts in Week Two. If you do not complete the topics in Weeks One and Two, you will not be able to complete all the topics in Week Three, etc. DO NOT skip topics and do not expect to get all the topics in later weeks if you do not complete the previous week’s topics. In order to unlock all the concepts in later weeks, you must complete all math problems in the previous weeks. Be sure to use your textbook while using ALEKS for useful explanations of the problems.

DO NOT ENTER ALEKS THROUGH A PREVIOUSLY TAKEN COURSE. If you have taken this course in the past and had to drop it, you must start again from the beginning. Do not go back into your previous course and try to access your previous ALEKS work. Only enter the ALEKS system through your current course shell, and again please remember that you must start from the beginning even if you completed ALEKS work in a previous class that you dropped.
