At university, Janet studied Arts-Law but became especially interested in graphic design. After her second year in college, despite attaining a string of good results, she transferred to a short-course in computer graphics at a private business college. During this time she worked three afternoons a week as an assistant in a computer graphics firm at Manly, where she familiarised herself with all the latest software packages, and began to express her artistic flair through the keyboard and mouse.
