Although there is much written about the IPV issue, most of the literature is about traditional relationships such as married couples or significant others or other family members. What has emerged in most recent times is the need to address IPV issues in special populations with an improved understanding of the cultural differences that impact the perception of the crisis. Generic understanding of traditional relationships will no longer be appropriate to manage crisis in special populations.
